Allegiant Air will inaugurate non-stop service between Bangor, Maine, and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport with two flights weekly beginning Nov. 20.
Inaugural one-way fares will begin at $89.99, not including taxes and fees for booking flights other than at the airport.
Flights on 150-passenger MD-80 aircraft will leave the Pinellas airport on Mondays and Fridays at 1:55 p.m. arriving in Bangor at 5:20 p.m.
The flights will depart Maine on Mondays and Fridays at 6 p.m. arriving in Pinellas at 9:40 p.m.
While Allegiant is promoting the service as a boon to Pinellas beaches from snowbound Maine residents, the airline is likely to draw outbound passengers with the new service the only non-stop flights between the Tampa Bay area and Maine.
