McKEES ROCKS, Pa. - A judge has cleared professional wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle of charges he violated a protection order and illegally possessed human growth hormone.
Police in suburban Pittsburgh stopped Angle last month on a charge of violating the protection order his then girlfriend, Trenesha Biggers, had gotten after they fought. Police said they found vials of human growth hormone in Angle's car.
The 40-year-old star of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling said he had a prescription for the HGH to treat neck injuries.
The judge on Tuesday also dismissed charges that Angle was driving with a suspended license.
Biggers — also a wrestler who goes by the stage name Rhaka Khan — did not comment outside the court.
Angle said he will be more careful about who he associates with in the future.
