LAKELAND - Polk County sheriff's deputies are seeking help figuring out who stole thousands of dollars worth of farm equipment two weeks ago.
According to deputies, someone cut through a fence at a pasture across from Kentucky Avenue and Camp Mack Road, east of Lake Wales, and stole several pieces of equipment known as "choppers." The theft occurred sometime between Sept. 3 and 6.
The equipment is described as being about 7-feet wide, brown and containing two barrels with 39-inch diameter drums. The choppers were under a large oak tree northeast of the entrance to the pasture.
Anyone with information should call Detective Rick Larence at (863) 534-6291 or (863) 534-6200.
