HILLSBOROUGH...47 CHAMBERLAIN...0
TAMPA - The Terriers offense ran roughshod over Chamberlain as Hillsborough capitalized on big offensive plays and good field position to shut out the Chiefs Thursday night.
Senior quarterback Tarean Austin struck on a 52-yard touchdown pass to Charles Lovett on the third play of the game as the Terriers put up 26 first-quarter points. Antonio Chow rushed for Hillsborough's second score on a 3-yard dash to his right.
After a turnover on the next Chiefs possession, Rodney Johnson scored on a first play, 58-yard run, making some nice cuts as he went in virtually untouched. Austin capped off the big first quarter with a 17-yard touchdown strike to Jordan Duval.
In total Austin completed eight passes for 205 yards in the first half, including a 44-yard bomb to Terrence Mitchell in the end zone.
The Terriers also got it working on the ground as Austin and Chow each had 50 yards rushing. Johnson, who scored a 73-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, also added 103 yards rushing.
Defensively the Terriers got two sacks from Gerald Pearson and Reggie Johnson.
