LETO...22 BLOOMINGDALE...15
TAMPA - Big-play touchdowns highlighted the game between the Leto Falcons and the Bloomingdale Bulls in a contest rife with penalties Thursday night.
With a 8-0 lead at the beginning of the third quarter, Leto appeared to put the game out of reach with huge back-to-back runs for scores. The first came on the second play of Leto's opening drive when Terik Greensberry broke through a wall of Bulls defenders and bolted 75 yards to the end zone.
Bloomingdale managed to sneak in a safety when they hurried QB Dominic Marino to commit an intentional grounding in the end zone.
Leto answered with their second big run when Jeremy Deering ran 56 yards for a score. It was Deering's second TD of the game, the first coming on a 5-yard run on Leto's first drive of the game.
Bloomingdale inched closer to Leto's lead with their own running game when Derrick Johnson ran 20 yards for a score and QB Eugene Perry turned a sneak into an 80-yard run for a score.
The Bulls' burst of enthusiasm ended abruptly when Brandon Toombs intercepted a Perry pass - his second of the night - allowing the Falcons to run out the clock.
