RIVERVIEW - Senior Ronnie Johnson ran for 163 yards and three touchdowns as Riverview pulled away in the second half for the victory against Lennard at J. Vince Thompson Stadium on Thursday night.

Both teams are 1-1.

Johnson put the Sharks ahead for good with 5:45 left in the second quarter on a 7-yard run, then ran for the 2-point conversion and a 14-6 halftime lead. He added two more touchdown runs to seal the game in the fourth quarter. The Sharks rushed for 370 yards, including 104 by Terrance Carter, and had 447 yards of offense.

David Ray ran 92 yards for an apparent touchdown on Riverview's first possession of the second half, but the Sharks were called for holding. Ray, who had one interception and another wiped out by a penalty, would come back on the next possession to score on a 56-yard pass from quarterback Jarid Heffers with 1:39 left in the third quarter.

Fred Porter (146 yards passing, two TD passes) hit DeMyco Winston for a 31-yard score 58 seconds later for Lennard, but the Longhorns failed on the 2-point conversion to trail 22-12, and could not get anything going in the fourth quarter.
