ROBINSON...30 KING...24
TAMPA - Robinson quarterback Blake Rice scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in overtime to lift the Knights to victory against King.
After the Knights had held King (1-1) off the board in the Lions' first possession of overtime, Robinson (2-0) pounded up the middle twice with 235-pound fullback Robert Smith. But on third-and-goal quarterback Blake Rice scampered around the right end untouched for the winning touchdown.
King had tied the game 24-24 when quarterback Greg Windham found Reese Sturgis on a 19-yard touchdown pass.
Prior to that, both sides had gone back and forth with scores, an 80-yard touchdown pass from Windham to Quadrea Everett and a 2-point conversion pass to Sturgis tying the game 14-14. Smith restored the Knights' advantage on a 1-yard touchdown run before the teams exchanged field goals before Sturgis' game-tying touchdown.
Sturgis had scored earlier in the game, returning a fumble 28 yards for a score, but Robinson's Frankie Williams returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards to put the Knights up 14-6 at halftime.
