TAMPA – University of South Florida senior center Alex Rivas, who started 14 games last season, will undergo surgery on both legs and will be out about three months.
Rivas is having a "bilateral tibial surgical revision which will replace the metal rods in both of his lower legs," according to USF.
Rivas averaged 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds last season.
USF opens the regular season Nov. 13 at SMU.
