TAMPA - Middle and high school students who care about good health are invited to produce public service announcements as part of the Florida KidCare Act-Out for Health Contest.
The contest had more than 100 entries last year in two categories: billboard ads and 30-second commercials.
The aim is to help explain Florida KidCare, the government program that provides affordable health benefits to otherwise uninsured children birth to age 18.
Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges and votes from students on the KidCare Web site.
Grand prize winners in both categories will get a $5,000 scholarship. They also will see the winning billboard placed in their hometown, and the commercial aired on Florida television stations and YouTube. Regional winners will win other prizes for their school and themselves.
Entries must be received by Dec. 2.
