The Florida Sportsman Fishing and Boat Show comes to Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa on Sept. 26-27, opening daily at 10 a.m.

The 13th annual show features a "Riggin' It Right" hands-on learning area where anglers can learn to rig everything from ballyhoo for offshore fishing to swimming mullet under a popping cork. It includes instruction on fishing with downriggers, outriggers, planers, kites and balloons.

There are also stages featuring kayaking, fly fishing, castnetting and more, plus a casting pond for children where every participant wins a Zebco tacklebox. Seminar topics include wadefishing, monster snook, trout in Tampa Bay, redfishing, fishing the tides, kingfishing, grouper and more. Some of Florida's best-known anglers are featured, including captain Bill Miller of BHSN, Channel 47, Mark Nichols of DOA Lures, and Dave Pomerleau, known as the "Mad Snooker."

There are numerous fishing boats for sale, plus the latest fishing tackle and marine electronics. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, free for children 12 and younger. For more information, visit www.floridasportsman.com/shows.
