St. Petersburg police today released a video of an armed robbery in which the suspect asked that the cash be put in a trash-can liner.
The holdup occurred at 3 p.m. Friday at the Pinellas Federal Credit Union, 3100 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg police said.
A man approached the counter, pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at an employee and told the employee to hand over the money, police said. The man spoke in a low tone of voice and provided a black trash-can liner for the cash, police said. Then he ran off.
He was wearing a black baseball cap, a taupe or light green sweatshirt, khaki pants and white plastic gloves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department's robbery squad at (727) 893-7179.
