Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a teenager whom they say ran from a deputy Tuesday afternoon and forced a lockdown at three Pinellas County schools.
Dominik Francisco Lucia, 15, of Seminole, was found as he emerged from some bushes where near 8211 91st St., the sheriff's office said.
He has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and obstructing and resisting arrest without violence. He will be taken to the Pinellas County Juvenile assessment Center.
Around 3:30 p.m. today, a deputy saw Lucia at Starkey Road and 82nd Avenue. The deputy approached Lucia, whom the sheriff's office said has a history of threatening others with a gun, patted him down and found a small caliber handgun in his waistband, the sheriff's office said.
Lucia then fled on foot with another gun, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies had placed Wellington School, Osceola Middle and Starkey Elementary on lockdown this afternoon while they searched for Lucia.
There were some students on the Osceola Middle campus, along with teachers and staff, deputies said.
At Wellington School and Starkey Elementary, there were teachers and staff on the campuses but no students, the sheriff's office said.
The lockdowns lasted from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
