TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery is giving up Lotto Plus less than a year and a half after offering higher jackpots to people who spend more on tickets.
The Lottery will instead offer bettors an option to spend $2 on a Lotto ticket to get up to five times the amount of non-jackpot prizes earned on $1 tickets.
Lotto Plus, which offers jackpot winners another $10 million if they spend $2 on a ticket and $25 million more if they spend $3 on a ticket, ends Oct. 10.
The new feature, Lotto EXTRA, will pay two and five times the prize for matching three, four or five of six numbers drawn, and a free ticket if two numbers match.
