Greater Tampa Chamber honors small businesses

TAMPA - Three local businesses and one businessman were spotlighted by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce on Friday evening for their accomplishments.
Winning 2009 Small Business of the Year awards were: in the five-to-20 employees category, Sprinkle Consulting, a civil engineering and land planning firm; in the 21-to-50 employees category, Simpson Air, an air conditioning and heating company; and in the 51-to-250 employees category, MJM Electric, an electrical contractor.
The chamber also awarded Scott Riley, chief executive of the e-commerce business Fintech, the Outstanding Leader award. The chamber held its annual awards presentation at the Tampa Convention Center in downtown Tampa. Companies were evaluated according to their financial achievements, community involvement and business ethics.
