TAMPA - Armwood (3-0) scored touchdowns on its first five possessions and went on to roll past Wharton (1-3) on Friday night.
Junior quarterback Josh Grady's 7-yard run put the Hawks up 7-0. On the next drive, Grady faced a first-and-40 situation when he found A.J. King for a 55-yard touchdown.
Grady capped a 52-yard drive when he ran it in from 11 yards to give Armwood a 21-0 advantage.
Sophomore Matt Jones scored on a 6-yard run, and then Grady found King again for a 25-yard score.
On fourth-and-3 from the Hawks' 45-yard line, Jones scored the final touchdown of the night on a 55-yard run.
In addition to holding the Wildcats to 31 yards rushing and 15 yards passing, the Hawks' Eric Striker blocked a Wharton punt and Jake Zilbar recovered it in the end zone for a score.
Grady was 13-of-16 for 258 yards, while King caught eight passes for 178 yards.
