TAMPA - Quarterback Quentin Williams and receiver Andre Davis had big games to lead the host Dragons to a Class 3A-District 8 win.
Williams completed 19 of 28 passes - finding eight different receivers - for 297 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. Davis was on the receiving end of four of Williams' scoring passes and finished with six catches for 132 yards.
"We've been best friends since the first grade," Williams said. "We just have that chemistry. I know where he's going to be and he knows where I'm going to throw it. Nothing's ever easy. We worked hard and just did our thing."
Williams got Jefferson (2-1, 1-0) in the end zone on its first offensive snap when he hit Davis on a 41-yard touchdown pass. Three minutes later, Williams connected with tight end Ramik Wilson for a 5-yard scoring pass to make it 14-0.
Williams added a pair of 35-yard touchdown passes in the second quarter, hitting Rashad Dunnigan at the 11:53 mark and Davis 7:34 before halftime.
Williams and Davis connected twice more for scores in the third quarter from 7 and 30 yards to give the Dragons a 40-0 lead.
