NEW PORT RICHEY - Josh Johnson ran for 168 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, leading the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls (3-1) to victory over the Ridgewood Rams (0-4).
Midway through the first quarter a botched handoff between Scott Kujak and Cameron Rodriguez of Ridgewood resulted in a fumble returned 37 yards for a touchdown by Wiregrass Ranch defensive lineman Dwayne Houston. A 51-yard scamper by Johnson in the second quarter gave the Bulls the ball at the 6-yard line. James Trignali would score on a quarterback sneak two plays later to make the score 14-0.
On the opening kickoff of the second half the Bulls struck again with an 85-yard return for a touchdown by Assad Nevel. Johnson then added a 3-yard touchdown run to put the Bulls up 28-0.
The Rams finally got on the scoreboard when Tommy Kinder scored on a 13-yard run with 3:26 left in the game.
Ridgewood was led by Nick Martino, who intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble, and by Cameron Rodriguez, who had 106 yards on 26 carries.
