TAMPA - Police say they have arrested a man who used a threatening note to demand Oxycodone at two local pharmacies this morning.
Eric D. Mullen, 21, of 1806 138th Ave., was arrested after Tampa police stopped his car near the intersection of North Nebraska Avenue and East Sligh Street. Mullen was found with a note demanding Oxycodone, a powerful prescription narcotic.
Police said they believe Mullen used the note to hold up the pharmacies. The first, at 9:55 a.m. today, was West Coast Pharmacy, 8439 N. Florida Ave. The second, at 10:37 a.m., was Choice Pharmacy, 5908 N. Armenia Ave.
In both cases Mullen gave clerks a note saying, "Give me Oxycodone or I'll kill you."
Neither pharmacy complied with his demand.
After each failed robbery, Mullen fled, police said.
Mullen faces two charges of attempted commercial robbery.
Mullen is a suspect in a similar robbery at 9:37 a.m. today at Lambright Pharmacy, 3430 Lambright Ave. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating that robbery, but has not charged anyone, said spokeswoman Debbie Carter.
