TAMPA - A man who entered two pharmacies and demanded oxycodone Saturday morning has been arrested, police say.
Eric D. Mullen, 21, of 1806 138th Ave., was arrested after Tampa police stopped his car near the intersection of North Nebraska Avenue and East Sligh Street. Mullen is in jail; bail was set at $42,250.
Mullen was found with a note demanding oxycodone, a powerful prescription narcotic, police said.
Police said they think Mullen used his note in an attempt to hold up West Coast Pharmacy, 8439 N. Florida Ave., at 9:55 a.m., and Choice Pharmacy, 5908 N. Armenia Ave., at 10:37 a.m.
In both cases Mullen gave clerks a note saying, "Give me oxycodone or I'll kill you."
Neither pharmacy complied with his demand.
After each failed robbery attempt, Mullen fled, police said.
Mullen faces two charges of attempted commercial robbery.
Mullen is also a suspect in a similar robbery at 9:37 a.m. Saturday at Lambright Pharmacy, 3430 Lambright Ave.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating that robbery, but has not charged anyone, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
