TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning placed veteran forwards Ryan Craig and Adam Hall on waivers today, one day before the 23-man roster is due.
Also put on waivers at noon was right wing Brandon Bochenski, while center Brett McLean was released from his tryout.
The moves leave the Lighting with 25 players in camp. Now that the forwards have been sorted out, the team is expected to trim two defensemen to meet the 23-man limit.
Among the defenders on the bubble are Matt Smaby, Matt Lashoff, Mike Lundin, Lukas Krajicek and David Hale.
Craig played 181 career games with the Lightning, recording 32 goals and 63 points the past four seasons.
Hall played 74 games for the Lightning last season with five goals and 10 points.
Bochenski played in three preseason games and had four penalty minutes. McLean, on a tryout, had one goal and two points in four preseason games.
