Newsome's depth helps teams sweep

PLANT CITY - Newsome swept the boys and girls team titles Tuesday with multiple runners in the top 10 at the Ron Frost Invitational hosted by Durant.

The Wolves boys placed four runners in the top 10 with Mike Zwijacz finishing second in 17:07, Joey Perfetto placing fourth in 17:36, Lars Benner taking seventh in 17:58 and Bryan Radd coming in ninth at 18:10 to give Newsome the win with 37 points. Robinson was runner-up with 57 points.

The Lady Wolves placed three runners in the top five - Brianna Jackson was second in 20:41, Sydney Coates finished third in 21:15 and Shelby Boyle placed third in 21:16 to give Newsome the trophy with 35 points. Northside Christian finished second place with 71.

Robinson's Bryan Garcia took first-place honors for the boys in 16:53, while Katelyn Greenleaf of Northside Christian was first for the girls in 20:14.

Garcia and Greenleaf also took individual titles at last Wednesday's Ryan McCall Invitational in Dover.
