Alonso reeled off 10 consecutive runs to defeat visiting Bloomingdale 10-1 on Tuesday night in a Class 6A-District 8 game.
Bloomingdale took a 1-0 lead in fourth after catcher Sal Giardina led off with a double and later scored.
The Ravens responded with a fifth-inning explosion that resulted in a 7-1 lead and knocked left-handed starter Steven Burnham out of the game.
Left fielder Shane Bishop reached on a leadoff bunt and advanced to second on a throwing error. Catcher Michael Fahrman followed with the first of four Ravens home runs. Chris Mejia's solo shot extended the defending state champions' lead.
Alonso's next three batters hit singles before junior pitcher Jose Fernandez hit a three-run shot.
"That's kind of our nemesis right now, the big inning," Bulls coach Kris Wilken said. "We've got to find a way to manage those big innings, make some good pitches, make some plays and let our offense work."
Fernandez, who has a fastball in the low- to mid-90s, allowed one run on four hits in the seven-inning outing. He struck out six and walked none.
"Last time he faced these guys he got the ball up and gave up some runs," Ravens coach Landy Faedo said. "They hit him pretty well. So this time he kept the ball down, made his pitches and was really efficient."
