The board of the regional utility voted 5-4 to sign a contract for $908,500 with KPMG to help with hiring a company to fix the cracked reservoir. The reservoir is designed to serve as a prime source of drinking water for the Bay area during the dry season that runs from November through early June.

<description><![CDATA[A broken water main has been repaired at Dale Mabry Highway and Bay to Bay Boulevard, allowing workers to begin road restoration later today. 

The intersection remains closed this morning, a day after water main break caused part of the road to buckle. 

Police have closed Dale Mabry between Empedrado and Santiago streets, and Bay to Bay between Church and Sterling avenues. Drivers are being detoured through residential streets in this area.
