PLANT CITY -- Florida Strawberry Festival visitors who want to know more about the history of the area will be able to satisfy their curiosity in the pages of a book.
"Remembering Plant City; Tales from the Winter Strawberry Capital of the World" will be on sale at the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce's booth on the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds. Copies are $20 and include photographs and stories from the Plant City Photo Archives.
The author is Gil Gott, executive director of the archives. Gott, a former president of the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce, writes a column for Focus magazine in Plant City and has served as an adjunct faculty member in the history department at Hillsborough Community College.
The festival runs Thursday through March 9.
