Running for U.S. president is a lot like auditioning for a role, and the country is about to cast someone to play it for the next four years.

If we could pick the best fictional leader of the free world from films and TV, would it be a kick-butt guy like President James Marshall (Harrison Ford) in "Air Force One"?

Or would a compassionate intellectual like President Josiah Bartlet (Martin Sheen) on "The West Wing" get our salute?

We could make fictional history with President Mackenzie Allen (Geena Davis) from TV's short-lived "Commander in Chief."
