1208 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa; (813) 402-2923
The venue: Hollowed-out concrete area, detailed with modern classy lounge attire and a few bar-game staples.
Hours: 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday
The allure: An eclectic collection of brew from all over the world; and you can even bring your dog.
Possible grievances: At times it can be too quiet (aka dull). Parking can be a chore, too. And people bring their dogs.
Last call: Pour House isn't a night-life hot spot, but it definitely provides an ideal chill atmosphere. In other words, you won't have to scream over music to hear the person beside you. That said, they will run a live band outside or have a promotion every now and then that will draw a sizable crowd.
With 40 craft beers on tap, and many more bottled up, the majority of people dropping in are looking to indulge in the chatty environment, all while sipping on rare brews they won't find at most local watering holes. While there's no hard liquor, the Pour House does boast a nice collection of wines by the glass.
A good portion of the patrons descending on this joint, which is nestled at the base of a massive condo complex, are the local inhabitants. Picture a blend of young and older professionals that still have a flair for a solid night of drinking. And the longer the night goes on, the scene can provide some excellent people watching. And if by some chance the roomy bar room fills up, there is outdoor patio seating.
