So you're not out there in the middle of the frenetic revelry on New Year's Eve. You can still party right in front of your TV set on Thursday night.
As usual, the options are plentiful beginning with that old stand-by "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest" beginning at 10 p.m. on ABC. Clark makes an appearance, but it's Seacrest's party.
It runs more than three hours and includes Jennifer Lopez and Daughtry performing live in New York. The Black Eyed Peas, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and Colbie Caillat will perform in Las Vegas.
On "New Year's Eve With Carson Daly" (10 p.m., NBC), Green Day and Rihanna will belt out some of their hits. Natalie Morales ("Today") and Alison Stewart ("As the World Turns") will help cover of the celebration in Times Square.
On "Billboard's New Year's Eve Live" (11 p.m., Fox), Carmen Electra welcomes 2010 in Las Vegas with "American Idol" stars Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and others.
Joining the celebration will be Eva Longoria Parker ("Desperate Housewives"), who invites viewers inside the grand opening of her new Las Vegas Latin steakhouse, Beso.
Here are some other ways to ring in the New Year on Thursday.
Hey, Moe! We've got a "Three Stooges" marathon on Thursday with 23 straight hours of face slaps, eye pokes and nyuk-nyuk-nyuks beginning at 7 a.m. on AMC.
"10 Years in the Making" (8 p.m. on CNBC) looks at the major achievements, innovations, staggering numbers, technological advancements, highlights, heroes and zeroes over the last 10 years.
"Live From Lincoln Center" (8 p.m. on PBS) ushers in the New Year with an all-American program that includes George Gershwin's "An American in Paris" and Aaron Copland's "Old American Songs." Alec Baldwin hosts.
"Top 10 Performances of 2009 [Prime] (8 p.m. on MTV): Hosts will guide viewers through a 30-minute countdown featuring highlights from the MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Movie Awards, MTV Spring Break and more.
"New Year. No Limits" (11 p.m. on ESPN): Action sports guy Travis Pastrana, who has won four Rally America championships and nine X Games gold medals, attempts to shatter the car distance jump record of 171 feet by jumping his rally car onto a floating barge anchored in Long Beach, Calif.'s Rainbow Harbor.
"New Year's Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin" (11 p.m. on CNN): Cooper hosts live coverage of the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square, while Kathy Griffin reports live from Las Vegas with singer Lance Bass.
"Top 9 on '09 [Prime] (11 p.m. on MTV) counts down the stories that generated the most interest online during 2009. Adrienne Bailon hosts, along with co-hosts Shailene Woodley ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager") and Josi Loren ("Make It or Break It").
