The Discovery Channel's realty series "Pitchmen," which featured the late Billy Mays, will have a second season, according to a news release from the network.
"Pitchmen," which recently concluded its first season, was a 12-episode part that featured the Tampa-based infomercial king Mays II and his business partner, Anthony "Sully" Sullivan.
Discovery Channel is developing the format of season two with Mays' son, Billy Mays III, Sullivan and producer Thom Beers, CEO of Original Productions. More information will be announced as it becomes available. A premiere date for season two hasn't been set.
The network also announced that "Pitchman: A Tribute to Billy Mays," which aired on July 9, will repeat on July 24 at 10 p.m.
The special pays tribute to Mays, a Pittsburgh native who had relocated to Tampa. He died June 27 from an apparent heart attack. He was 50.
Known for his boisterous sales pitches for dozens of products such as OxiClean, the bearded Mays was an icon in the direct marketing business.
