Officials of MTV2 announced this morning that the network will carry highlights of 20 games this fall featuring teams in the Lingerie Football League which includes the Tampa Breeze.
"LFL Presents: Friday Night Football on MTV2" will debut on Sept. 3 on MTV2. There was no schedule released.
"The marriage of LFL's 'Friday Night Football' to MTV2 has now created the ultimate television viewing destination for guys on Friday nights," said Mitchell S. Mortaza, founder and chairman of the Lingerie Football League. "We are incredibly excited to team with MTV2 to introduce LFL football to the country."
Throughout the season, the LFL and MTV2 will present 20, half-hour highlight episodes along with the Western and Eastern Conference playoffs. Viewers also will see what happens on the sidelines and the locker rooms, according to a news release from LFL.
"We are excited to partner with the Lingerie Football League to bring all the feminine ferocity of 'Friday Night Football' to MTV2 every week," said Eric Conte of MTV2.
The LFL is an extension of the Super Bowl halftime counter-programming special called the Lingerie Bowl that debuted in 2004.
There are now 10 teams in the LFL. The Tampa Breeze is scheduled to play four games this fall beginning on Sept. 24 in Orlando against the Orlando Fantasy.
