The delayed season of "Pitchmen 2," starring TV infomercial veteran Anthony Sullivan will begin in January, according to the Discovery Channel.
The Tampa-based series was a hit for the cable network last season when it co-starred Sullivan and the late Billy Mays. The first season followed the two direct marketing pitchmen as they searched for new products to sell on TV.
But the first episodes of the second season faltered in the ratings after an August debut and so "Pitchmen 2" was put on hiatus.
"Pitchmen 2" will start anew at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 for an eight-week run.
Sullivan has said that he agrees with the decision to hold it back. It had faced tough competition on Thursday nights.
Episodes will follow Sullivan and his Tampa-based production company as they evaluate, test and market new inventions and products.
He told The Tribune that "It was a difficult decision to go on with the show without Billy because he was the face of 'Pitchmen' and we worked as a team,"
"The first season was about our crazy search for products and how we marketed them. This second season focuses on the inventors. Behind every invention there is a story - even the inventions that crash and burn."
