Jerry Penacoli, best known for his work on TV's entertainment magazine "Extra," has been named co-host of the nationally syndicated show "Daytime" on WFLA, Channel 8.
Penacoli is a multiple Emmy award-winner who has been an "Extra" correspondent for 13 seasons. He was also a host for E! Entertainment Television.
"Daytime" airs in more than 130 U.S. markets.
"I am very pleased to announce the addition of Jerry Penacoli to 'Daytime,' " said Brad Moses, president and general manager of WFLA-TV. "Our long standing relationship with 'Extra' and his frequent visits to guest host made him a staff and viewer favorite."
Penacoli will join current "Daytime" co-host Cyndi Edwards starting Feb. 4.
Co-host Lindsay MacDonald is leaving the show at the end of this month. Her husband's business is taking them to Colorado.
"Lindsay has been an energetic part of 'Daytime,' " said Maureen Famiano, executive producer of the program. "She has been a valuable part of our show. I wish her loads of luck in her new adventure."
Penacoli was a prime-time news anchor for KYW-TV in Philadelphia. Before that, he served as host and producer of PM Magazine at WTVJ in Miami. He began his career at WJKS in Jacksonville as a general assignment reporter and news anchor.
