PLANT CITY – Get ready to break out your best denim for a good cause.
Diamonds & Denim to benefit the South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation will be from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Sept. 26. About 600 guests are expected to be on hand for the foundation’s largest annual fundraiser.
“It’s going to be a great evening as it is every year,” foundation Executive Director Jana Butler said.
Ticket sales continue through Sept. 20 for the gala, which includes catered dinner, dancing and drawings for prizes including a $4,500 diamond ring. The venue will be the Florida Strawberry Festival’s expo hall.
Between ticket sales, drawings, auctions and sponsorships, Butler hopes to raise a total of $100,000. More than $900,000 has been raised since the event was founded in 1997.
Tickets are $50 per person; advance reservations are required as there will be no ticket sales at the door.
The evening will include a drawing for a diamond ring donated by Crescent Jewelers, 50/50 drawing and live and silent auctions.
There will also be a drawing for special seating and a meal prepared at tableside, Butler said.
All the guests sitting at the table with the winning ticket holder also will enjoy the separate seating and meal, she said.
The drawings require purchase of separate tickets.
A committee of about 20 volunteers plans and coordinates the event. Kim McElveen and Rebecca Trinkle Rothman are the co-chairs for the third year.
