TWIST ON FLAVOR
I've always been a bit dubious about flavored waters. It's bottled water. How much more can you improve on it? Plus, too many flavored waters, in an effort to mimic sugary sodas, consider sickly sweetness an actual flavor. Which explains why we were more than a little pleased to have enjoyed samples of Twist's lemon- and mango acai-flavored waters. (Don't worry, we had to look up acai, too. It's a palm that produces tasty berries.) Twist has all the requisite buzzwords these days: certified organic, less than 10 calories, artesian. Bottom line: It doesn't make you feel like you're drinking medicine. The lemon flavor, one of six in the product line, was downright refreshing. Go figure. SILI GRABBIT
It doesn't look like much, but That Sili Thing from William Bounds is a clever silicone gadget that prevents a pot from boiling over. It also helps users drain water by resting between the pot and its lid. The tool fits all sizes of pots and is heat-resistant up to 500 degrees. Available in four colors, it retails for $7.99. AIRS WELL
Let's see a show of hands of everyone whose wine glasses come out of the dishpan or dishwasher with enough spots to qualify as a Rorschach test. (Go ahead. It's OK to admit it.) The AirDry glass holder by Architec holds four pieces of stemware upside down, so they can dry naturally to reduce streaks and spots. The holder breaks down into two flat pieces for easier storage.
