Sip green beer while your dog munches green biscuits from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Paws For Friendship's St. Patrick's Day Celebration at Grillsmith, 14303 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. The event includes a best canine leprechaun contest, prize drawings and half-price drinks and appetizers. The Red Cross and SPCA are offering a Pet CPR and First Aid Class at 10 a.m. April 4 at SPCA Lakeland, 5850 Brannen Road S., Lakeland. The $40 fee includes books. Topics to be addressed are CPR, dressing a wound, getting ready for a natural disaster, monitoring vital signs and assisting a choking pet. EASY WAY TO SPAY

If you've got a potential mama cat and no desire to find homes for a litter of kittens, get a deal on spaying her this month at Pinellas County Animal Services, 12450 Ulmerton Road, Largo.
