THE STUFFER Abby Alger, Freedom, C, Senior, 6-2: Alger was one of the state's leaders in blocked shots last season with 119, an average of 4.3 per game. Alger, one of only two senior starters returning this season for the Patriots, has taken on a bigger leadership role on the court.

Henry McCloud scored three touchdowns and Tampa Catholic won its first game of the season Friday night, a 31-7 victory over Sarasota Cardinal Mooney (2-1).
Junior quarterback Billy Embody completed 18 of 26 passes for 360 yards and four touchdowns, leading host Carrollwood Day School Prep to a 42-27 victory against Leesburg First Academy.
