The Pinellas County Courthouse in Clearwater was closed this morning for more than two hours because of a bomb threat.
Courthouse administrators evacuated about 450 people after someone called the courthouse, 315 Court St., about 8:30 a.m. with a threat, said Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Bordner. Courthouse administrators then evacuated about 450 people.
The courthouse reopened about 10:50 a.m. after authorities realized the threat was unfounded, said Clearwater public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly-Watts.
A sheriff's office bomb dog team checked the building, and Clearwater police established a perimeter around it, Bordner said.
Traffic wasn't delayed, but several trials and hearings were interrupted.
