Trailblazers of all stripes paid tribute today to the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail, as the county marked the 20th anniversary of the 37-mile path.
The celebration was held at Taylor Park in Largo. The first 5-mile section of the trail opened in 1990, connecting Taylor Park with Seminole City Park, according to the county's website.
The trail, which is named for a longtime Pinellas County administrator, averages about 75,000 walkers, bicyclists, in-line skaters and other users monthly.
