An area charter school has earned another national accolade.
Representatives from the Kid's Community College in Riverview, 10544 Lake St. Charles Blvd., announced May 24 that its elementary school has been granted national accreditation from the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.
Late last year, the Kid's Community College's preschool earned national accreditation.
"This is a tremendous achievement, not only for Kid's Community College for having both a preschool and elementary charter school nationally accredited, but also for the student's families, community and educational professionals in Hillsborough County," said Timothy Kilpatrick, the school's founder.
The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement - along with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement - accredits public and private schools and districts in 30 states.
