A motorcyclist died Monday night when he struck another vehicle at U.S. 301 and Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
James Clanton, 56, of Riverview, died at the scene of the 7 p.m. accident, FHP said.
Clanton was traveling on a 2007 Harley-Davidson as he headed south in the center lane of U.S. 301.
Sydnee Jones, 16, of Brandon, was northbound on U.S. 301 and was at the left turn lane to enter southbound I-75. Jones made the left turn into the path of Clanton's motorcycle, FHP said.
The front of Clanton's motorcycle struck the right front of Jones's 2001 Dodge Dakota, FHP said.
Clanton was ejected from his motorcycle. He crashed into the windshield of Jones's car and the fell to the grass shoulder.
The case remains under investigation, FHP said.
