ST. PETERSBURG - A woman was struck and killed by a sports utility vehicle on 4th Street North shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday, police said.
The woman, whose name was not released, was walking westbound across 4th Street. She was pushing a shopping cart from Sweetbay Supermarket when she was hit.
After the 2007 Cadillac SUV hit her, she rode on the hood and the bumper. The woman fell to the pavement and was run over by the right side tires.
Police said the woman walked into the path of the vehicle. Police said the driver is not facing charges.
