DOVER - An intoxicated Dover man severely cut a fellow migrant farm worker with glass on Friday and later resisted arrest, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies arrested Roberto Garcia Perez, 19, about 7:48 p.m. Friday.
When Perez cut the man, he caused severe cuts to the man's hands and the side of the man's chest, a criminal arrest affidavit says. Perez fled and later armed himself with a knife. When the sheriff's office canine unit caught him west of Mullins Drive in Dover, he struggled and tried to pull away.
Perez was charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence, the affidavit says.
Perez, of 13318 Mullins Drive, remains in Orient Road Jail. His bail had been set at $15,500, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Web site.
