GIBSONTON - A Kentucky man charged with first-degree rape avoided capture for a week until he was arrested Thursday afternoon in Hillsborough County, jail records show.

James Aaron Carter, 21, of Leitchfield, Ky., is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old girl, according to the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office.
Hillsborough deputies arrested him at 1:30 p.m. at 7506 Gibsonton Drive, records show. He remains in custody at Orient Road Jail, awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
