Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Chamberlain will wear King Arthur's crown when "Spamalot" returns in March to the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
Best known for his TV roles on "Dr. Kildare," "Shogun" and "The Thorn Birds," Chamberlain also has a well-established stage career. He appeared onstage in "The King & I," "Scrooge," "My Fair Lady" and "The Sound of Music."
"Spamalot," based on the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," tells the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and comes complete with flying cows, killer rabbits and taunting Frenchmen. It won the Tony for best musical in 2005.
The show runs March 3-8 at the performing arts center, 1010 MacInnes Place. Tickets are $45, $66 and $78, and can be purchased by calling (813) 229-7827.
