Local artist Eileen Goldenberg finished second in the national "My Wendy, My Way" Art Contest.
She received $5,000 for her painting, which depicted the iconic character from the Wendy's fast food chain participating in the Gasparilla Parade. The contest required incorporating Wendy into the local community.
Goldenberg, 53, a longtime resident of Davis Islands, is well known in the community for her charitable and public art projects.
Jessica Harms of Atlanta took first place and won $25,000.
