TAMPA - The news so far is disappointing on the recovery of Channel 10 weatherman Dick Fletcher, who suffered a stroke Monday, the station says on its Web site.

"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of doctors and all your prayers, Dick is not making the kind of recovery we'd hoped for," according to a statement at tampabays10.com.
Information for sending best wishes is available on the Web site.
Fletcher, 65, was at home when he had the stroke. With Channel 10 since 1980, he anchors the 4, 6 and 11 p.m. weekday forecasts.
In 2004, he had a mild stroke at work just before a 4 p.m. newscast. He made a rapid recovery and was back on the air in less than two weeks.
Fletcher lives in St. Petersburg with his wife, Cindy, and has three grown children.
"Cindy Fletcher says the best thing for all of us to do right now is to pray for Dick," the Web site says.
