A woman asleep on a couch in the early hours of July 19 was sexually battered by a 38-year-old Tampa man, Hillsborough County deputies say.
"I believe she thinks she may have been drugged in some beverages she was drinking," sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway said.
Deputies arrested Christopher Miles Hardy at 10 a.m. today.
He was charged with sexual battery.
Callaway said the woman knows Hardy but that he wouldn't describe them as friends. He said it's inconclusive right now if she had been drugged.
The incident occurred sometime between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. July 19, Callaway said.
Hardy remained in Orient Road Jail today. His bail was set at $50,000.
