Spring Hill Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run

SPRING HILL - A 47-year-old woman was killed on U.S. 19 last night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver and then again by a second motorist, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The woman was walking in the outside lane northbound on U.S. 19 (State Road 55) when she was hit by a car traveling north at 11:27 p.m., a news release said. The driver left the scene in an unknown direction, the release said. A description of the car was not available.

While lying in the roadway, the victim was struck by another car being driven by a 20-year-old Spring Hill woman, the release said. The second driver was not injured.

The victim's identity is pending notification of relatives.
