A Tampa man was charged Thursday with illegally dumping household and yard debris along Taylor Road north of Plant City.
Deputies said Michael James Koonce, 43, of 7214 N. Dale Mabry Highway, was hired to haul the debris from a Tampa home to a Hillsborough County landfill. Instead, deputies said, he dumped the debris in his flatbed trailer on the road's right-of-way.
Commercial haulers must pay to use a county landfill.
