I-75 Lanes Reopen After Fatal Crash Near Venice

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Venice are open again after a fatal car crash caused troopers to close two lanes this morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The lanes were closed for about two hours after the 5:30 a.m. crash happened at mile marker 190.

Troopers diverted traffic to exit 182 at Sumpter Boulevard in North Port, but Lt. Paul France advised motorists to take exit 179 at Toledo Blade Boulevard or exit 170 at Kings Highway because there's a large backup on Sumpter.

France says even though all lanes are open, motorists will face some traffic in this area.
