Firefighters grappling with Hernando Beach brush fire

HERNANDO BEACH A sprawling brush fire was heading west Saturday afternoon along a sparsely populated section of Osowaw Boulevard.
Firefighters from multiple agencies were called to the scene shortly before 3:30 p.m., said Sgt. Donna Black, a spokeswoman with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
An evacuation was called just prior to 6 p.m. for those residents who live along Shine Lane, which is located north of Aripeka.
Responders from Hernando Beach, Pasco County, Spring Hill, Hernando County and the Florida Division of Forestry responded near the intersection of Osowaw and India Bay Road earlier this afternoon, Black said.
The fire is moving in a westward direction away from Shoal Line Boulevard.
